Mitu Bhowmick Lange AM

Mitu Bhowmick Lange AM is an Indian-Australian filmmaker, film producer and founder-director of Mind Blowing Films. Mitu is credited for integrating Indian films to mainstream Australian cinemas and is the leading distributor of Indian films in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

Mitu is the founder and director of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, the largest annual celebration of Indian Cinema outside India and is presented by Victorian government.

Mitu has produced several award winning films and documentaries like Raising the bar, Watch Without Prejudice and Spice Girls of India. Raising The Bar is an Indian-Australian documentary film about six youths with Down Syndrome. She has line produced some of India’s biggest blockbusters like Salaam Namaste, Chak De India, Love Aaj Kal and worked with stars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Her latest feature film, My Melbourne (2024), presented by VicScreen and Screen Australia, celebrates diversity through a unique anthology format.

Mitu serves on the VicScreen board and the board of the Centre for Australia-India Relations. In 2024, Mitu became the recipient of the award of Member of the Order of Australia (AM), for service to performing arts through film.

John Molly

John Molloy is a Logie and AACTA Award winning producer with a track record of realising successful projects that combine creative excellence with audience appeal.

In 2022 John completed the drama series Barons which he co-created with Michael Lawrence and Liz Doran and produced for ABC Australia, CW Network in the US and Fremantle International. In 2019 John produced The Gloaming, which premiered on Stan in Australia and Starz in North America with Disney’s ABC Studios handling international distribution.

In 2016 John produced and co-created with Matt Cameron and Liz Doran the event miniseries Molly for the Seven Network. The series is the highest rating drama in Australian television history and was awarded the 2017 Logie Award for Best Drama Series. Also in 2016, John produced the feature film Boys in the Trees which premiered in competition at the Venice Film Festival, competed at the Toronto and Busan Film Festivals and won Best Narrative Feature Film at the 2016 Austin Film Festival.

John is Executive Producer of the AACTA and SPA Award winning short form series The Tailings (2021) and the feature films Undertow (2020), The Second (2018), Killing Ground (2016) and Co-Producer of the feature film Boytown (2006).

John’s other credits include two series of the acclaimed factual series Head First (ABC); John Safran’s Race Relations (ABC) and the AACTA award winning short film The Last Time I Saw Richard.

Most recently, John was a Producer on the feature film Late Night With The Devil, a collaboration with Future Pictures, Spooky Pictures and Image Nation. In 2023 he produced the feature film Jones Family Christmas for STAN.

John is a partner in Mind Blowing Films – Australia’s largest distributor of Indian and South Asian theatrical content. With his colleague Mitu Bhowmick-Lange John was the co-founder of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) which is the largest Indian film festival outside of India. Mitu and John have launched the production banner Mind Blowing World to create content that can appeal successfully to Australia and India.

He is the co-founder of independent production company Total Fiction, which was established in 2024.
